The Job Seeker Catwalk — Just Get to the End & Turn around | Job Seeker Selfies
Written by Lili Heaney
As a university student, my biggest concern that I am sure applies to every other university student as well, is being unsure about what steps we need to take when it comes to looking for and applying to jobs after graduation.
For students, including me, the thought of applying for jobs after graduation is daunting and overwhelming, and most of us may not have the confidence to know what we need to do.
Going into university, the one thing that would have really put my mind at ease would have been knowing that there is a course that would provide detailed steps on what to do when you are looking for jobs, how to have a successful interview, what to do after an interview, and what to do when you eventually land a job. UseVerb’s Job Search Secrets course includes information on all of this, as well as videos that explain important steps, activities that get you thinking, downloadable templates, and examples that you can follow.
Before completing this course, I genuinely thought that when you apply for a job you just submit a resume, wait, and hope for the best, but no apparently that’s the worst thing you can do!
After completing the course my mindset completely changed and my confidence grew knowing that I have this course I can go back to when it comes to applying for a job after graduation.
Once you complete the course, you have all this information that you can apply when you are looking for and applying to jobs and I really believe that the tips included will help you know what to do in order to stand out and have a successful outcome. I feel like all universities should promote this course to their students because it would really help students be in a good position for when it comes to applying for jobs after graduation.
Something that I also value is time and I appreciate anything that will help me effectively save time. I always thought that I would have to spend hours writing resumes to apply for jobs, but I recently found out that on the UseVerb app you can create a profile that showcases all your experience, skills, education, talents etc. and it automatically puts it in a resume format for you. As well as this, you can create a Verb Video that is less than 30 seconds which you can use to introduce yourself to employers and sell yourself!
When you go to apply for jobs this Verb Video can be viewed from the QR code that is shown on your resume. This is something that saves your time as well as employers, because as they’re watching your video, they’re learning about you, your personality, your attitude, and that is something that can determine whether or not you will be invited for an interview or land a job.
I hope you loved this blog and got some great tips!
