What was great about this, was it gave both parties a chance to meet each other and make a first impression. Now, unfortunately we’ve lost that personal touch. But who’s to say you can’t bring it back into fashion?
Go into the company you want to work for, and introduce yourself. It might just be your golden ticket to an interview.
Utilise Your Network
“It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”
Yes, we’ve all heard it a thousand times before 🙄
But don’t disregard its overuse for low quality.
Just as we prefer to hear a review or advice from someone we know, people also prefer to hire people they trust.
You can start by reaching out to those in your network; previous jobs, friends, family, or communities you’re involved in. You never know when an opportunity is just around the corner.

It’s time to get networking!
Networking events are great because everyone is there to actively meet new people, so they’ll be receptive to getting to know you. Business cards are good to have on hand at these events.
You might have some quick wins with networking, and at times it may be a long-game. Either way, all relationships are valuable.
